Fernando Cari
PAINTER | LONDON, UK
Fernando Cari (b. Lima, Peru) is a British artist living and working in London. He obtained his MA in Painting from the Royal College of Art and a BA (Hons) in Fine Art from the Cambridge School of Art, following studies at Wimbledon College of Arts and the Escuela de Bellas Artes del Perú.
Working with oils and water-based natural pigments, Cari explores memory, identity, and the layered nature of lived experience. Informed by personal history and cultural narratives, he transforms fragments of recollection into dynamic compositions where organic and synthetic forms merge. Through texture, colour, and light, his paintings create immersive spaces where perception and materiality coexist in a continual state of transformation.
His work has been exhibited at the Royal Academy of Arts, the Royal Watercolour Society, ING Discerning Eye, the Mall Galleries, the Chelsea Art Society, and the Saatchi Gallery, among others. Solo exhibitions include Paintings at the Contemporary Museum of Art and Desplazamientos at the Alliance Française in Cusco. His works are held in private collections in London, Luxembourg, Paris, and Vienna.
